Intrinsic Motivation: By design, game components were built on the following foundations of intrinsic motivation: Autonomy, Competence and Support. FitGAMES:
Encourages Autonomy. Participants create a personal vision statement, set and score custom goals.  Teams advance when all teammates participate.
Cultivates Competence. Participants are educated through FitGAMES all original multi-media content library of articles, quizzes,  informational and applicational videos. Participants gain knowledge necessary to bridge the gap between knowing and doing.

Gamification is the idea of taking an undesirable activity and making it fun by adding game-like features.  Incentives and points presented in game-design can add an “addictive” element keeping players engaged.
